About The Event
Thespis was Gilbert & Sullivan's very first work. Sullivan's music has been lost (except for two numbers), but American composer Bruce Montgomery has written a very Sullivan-like score to replace it.
The gods on Mt. Olympus have grown old and bored. When a troupe of actors climb the mountain for a picnic, they and the gods quickly work out a scheme to leave the actors in charge while the gods go for a holiday on earth.
Complications ensue...
There will be a pre-show talk one hour before the curtain. Stage Director Laurie Hupman and Music Director Jeffrey Yaeger will discuss aspects of the show. Questions will be taken from the audience.
