San Jose Wind Symphony - Music and Muses

This concert features music that was inspired by other art forms — from fine art, to theatre, to poetry, to short stories, and of course, to dance, this program will delight you with forays into art in many different forms.

“Music and Muses” is an intoxicating mix of classics and contemporary works, including Norman Dello Joio's "Scenes from the Louvre" and "Ballet Parisien" by Jacques Offenbach. And lest you think this concert is just for Francophiles, the centerpiece of the concert is a dramatic new piece by composer Viet Cuong, ”Sound and Smoke.”
